i'll try that dave, no, there is no alarm or remote start. whats weird is i never changed anything under the dash at all, I labeled everything on the harness and hooked everything up corretly, i must have messed something up

The RAP only gives power to the interior lights, radio, windows not the ignition or fuel. The ignition switch must be broken and wont cut the power. My ignition switch broke by not staying in the ignition postion. It would turn back a little and turn the car off, a little anoying.

and it everything shuts off when the switch is unpluged, pull the switch off the column and check to see if the rod is moving ok when you turn the key

Dave, everything was still on when I disconnected the ignition switch, the rod is working correctly too
