I have about 11.4 CR and use the crappy 91 octane gas here in CA. As long as you keep the timing on the safe side, you should be fine.
As for the 220's, better hope you have A LOT of cam to take advantage of those ports.
Bottom end sounds just like mine. Just make sure the machining and assembly is top notch and you won't be disappointed.
