what exactly does a 4.125 bore come out to? why wouldnt you just go .030 over?

You looked into what the AFR 227s take to run? LOTS of special parts.

Offset rockers, offset lifters, adjustable gudieplates, offset girdle blah blah blah. Adds up quickly.

more compression??? depends on how it will be used and gas availability. This is an ongoing debate. How much compression can someone run with premium 92 or 93 gas without pissing off the knock module?

NO, i had the understanding they used
STD. parts so i guess the 220s
the smaller runner is better anyway.

Ya their website is very misleading. I was going to get the 227s too until i found out about all that. The 220s should work quite well too.

Forget trying to figure out static compression and what pump gas you can run on it. Pay attention to your cam choice, and figure the dynamic compression. Much more important.

I could be wrong, but I didn't think you could bore a 350 out to a 4.125 piston, thats a 400 piston. I know you are using the 3.75 stroke. Maybe I read something wrong.

I lloked at it the same way. 4.125 isnt the bore its the head gasket size.

"It appears that most gas engines make the best power with a DCR between 7.5 and 8.5 on 91 or better octane"
from this site
here

is that right??

You can get away with 8.5-9.0 on an LTx based motor and 92/93 octane. If you are running 91, shrug, not really sure.

Why are you running a 4.125 head gasket with a 4.030 bore? I did that once on my olds 350, used the wrong head gaskets, filled the engine up with water the first time i started it and ruined it.

I gotta be missing something here.
