I have about $10,000 invested in the motor and that doesn't include exhaust, clutch, drivetrain, suspension, k-member, tuning, etc.

yeah, if you had read...........i said i would like to spend 6 on the motor alonel, I have all the rest of everything A ok..............so all i need to know about is the motor. I can get a lunati rotating assembley for half of what you all have to pay for it......(connections). So as i will be getting some things at cost my 6 grand number i think might be reasonable to make 500rwhp..........i was just seeing what you guys were gonna think about it

$6k and 550rwhp N/A aren't even in the same equation.
This is true.

...and if you had read...I said the motor will cost ten thousand ALONE without all those other things, all I'm trying to do is give you an idea of what "realistically" you will spend. BTW, my price includes getting a complete callies rotating assembly for under $2k. My point being that even with your "connections" I don't think you can build this motor for $6k and make 500rw, and definitely not 550rw. Not trying to bust your chops here, but I've done it and just trying to help you understand what all has went into the build and what to expect.

If you want over 450RWHP then you better plan on 10k+. I see alot of post of people stating 450-500 from a 383 should be easy but very few that produce and even fewer that can back it up with ET or MPH. I spent 6K on my set up 3K of it on the heads and I built the motor to make 420RWHP and 420RWTQ. To set to 500RWHP you will need at least 220 heads that are realy ported well, a nasty SR cam, and every thing will need to be done corectly.

No prob. Good luck on the build and keep us posted on how it turns out and what you end up using for top end components.

Re: 383 questions....how much power??

aight, thanks..........will do. I dont know if im gonna do the build anymore. I really wanted to make my z into track car, because im thinking about getting another car. Unless i can find other information other places that looks promising to me then i will try it, but its not sounding so good right now.

I wanted to make 700-720rwhp, but that doesnt look like a realistic goal with only 6 in the new motor. (i can put down 8k, but i just dont think i wanna spend that much)

I might sell the z and get a 04 cobra and buy the kenne bell kit. (with all the money i was looking at spending i can probably make close to 800rwhp on the cobra)

Now im talking about ALL the money i was gonna have to spend on the z when i say that.

and i would probably spray a 100 or 150 shot on the cobra. I dont know, i just have to think about a lot of things before i start clicking the buy button on my computer (haha)

Thanks for all you help guys,

Scott
