383 Oil Pan Clearance
383 Oil Pan Clearance
Does anyone have a picture of how they clearanced their oil pan for a 383. Did you also have to clearance the oil pan gasket? I see where the block had to be clearanced for the rods, is that where the oil pan should be clearance. How did you go about clearancing? The oil pan seems way to thin to grind and if i use a hammer and dent it, it seems like the rail will get bent and I'd end up with an oil leak.
Re: 383 Oil Pan Clearance
with my 383 I didn't have to touch the pan. The problem was the windage tray that bolts to the crank bots. There is your problem. But, feedback that I am getting is that I need a better aftermarket pan. Check out my post, Which oil pan. Might be of help.
