Just our preference here, but we will not use a stock pan on a stroker engine. With the host of aftermarket pans that are available, and purpose built for stroker builds we prefer to go that route.

I've put stock pans on engines before and with the 6" rods I've seen #3 and #4 rod clip the pan so that had to be bumped out. Then #7 rod clipped the pan so that had to be bumped out. The time spent on the stock pan v.s. using a correct aftermarket pan just didn't make sense to me.

SO Nick. What kinda of PAN do you recommend I use? Does it matter which one? No matter what after market pan that I have seen people use there is some type of clearing or denting out people have to do. Is there a pan that I can use where all i gotta do is bolt it up. And were good?

WE use the Milodon 6qt pan with built in windage tray and baffle pretty frequently. I usually use it in conjunction with their oil pump and pick-up. It positions the pick-up a little further forward than a melling and really aids in pump install and oiling.

We also use the Moroso pretty often along with a Melling oil pump and pick-up.

Both pans are very good and neither require modification. I have used both pans with splayed 4 bolt caps and there is no interference issues.

Hello Nick, im in the same situation. What about a crank scraper? Do the moroso or Miloden come with one? Can a stock crank scraper be used?

Thanks in advance!
