383 head gasket problems with nitrous

I would think hardness would show up under power as a sudden loss of sealing of the gasket. Weeping IMO points towards bad machine work in flatness or finish on one or both of the mating parts.

When you say cylinders 7-8 you are saying the rearmost cylinders on BOTH sides right??

yea the rear cyl. on both sides it looks as if when the block was zero decked they didnt do a very good cut and left small marks for the compression to leak out..

Another item to consider: Did you deck the block? The factory deck flatness and surface finish are unreliable at best. You got new heads that are certainly "true" with polished surfaces. If the deck is not true and the surface finish is not as per gasket manufacturer requirements, then the gaskets are bound to fail under the higher stress.

well im just going back with what i know works and never had any problems with the 1074gaskets.
