Try to the GM impala gaskets. .029 thickness, so not much of a loss on compression. They should hold better than 9966 felpro and the Mr Gasket.

when you had your first leak and changed the gaskets did you send those same heads to lloyd for his port work? or pick up another set?

I know guys pushing 18-24 pounds of boost on fel pro 1074s with no problems. Those gaskets should work, but they are thicker.

Try Napa for the Victor Reinz. PN 5898 . These are the MR Gasket minus the package problems.

what if it's not a gasket issue. Its blowing out the gasket in the same area. Thats why i asked the question if they were the same set of heads from the first gasket issue to the lloyd port work. If the car has over heated in the past the aluminium in that area of the head might be to soft. Thus not sealing and gasket choice won't make a differance.

same heads but they where milled when i sent them in and the 1074gasket is thicker around the water jacket than all the other gaskets... thats why i think it the gaskets why would they have less area between the water jacket and the cyl. ring and the 1074 have more?

i have checked the block..no problems i think im going with the 1074 gaskets and having the heads milled down .010 to make up the compression loss.

You are having issues with known good popular gaskets so the problem is in YOUR setup somewhere.

Did the gasket blow the first time because the casting is soft?? Were they checked for such?
Quality of machinework??? on block and heads, have heard the phrase "giant belt sander" used to describe the way some shops "mill" things. Surface finish and straightness of the milled surface are both concerns.

The copper gaskets will weep coolant in street use, not the solution.

Wonder if it could be something wacky like one weak injector making that cylinder lean and hot, detonating causing the issue, really reaching a bit, the point is be open minded to find what is causing this because it is a problem with your car, not the gaskets.

well the whole setup has been changed and the injectors are new so i dont think thats the problem the gaskets never really blow they just weep.. im just going back to the 1074gasket and having the heads milled to make up the compression.

milling the heads won't fix it if it is a hardness issue. good luck with it, whatever you decide to do.
