383 burning oil after head porting, i had a very well know lt1 head porter do my heads and now im using oil used 1qt in 150miles and there are no leaks so it has to be burning the oil, Motor has 6000miles on it. And last year never used any oil i checked compression 205-210psi on all 8.

 

Sounds like the valve seals are fragged.

 

Could be seals or guides. When I first saw 383 the usual suspect of pin height up in the ring lands.

 

well the only other thing is i had a nitrous backfire the other day but i think it was using the oil before that. but i could be wrong.

 

Do a leakdown test. That will tell you.

 

might also be sucking oil into the intake runners via the rocker stud holes, common w/ ported heads
