355 kicked butt, but not anymore...
355 kicked butt, but not anymore...
When I got it, it jerked me back in my seat when I floored it. Now, it doesn't have the same effect. It even sounds alot quiter. I'm still getting rpms, but its just not "layin it down" like it was at first.
And I'm not sure if its because my clutch has broken in or what, but it's gotten harder to ease the clutch and. If I tried to ease the clutch out, the car will buck back and forth. (Spec III).
It also feels like it's alot softer going into any gear. The stick just feels alot looser. And now when I try to whip it around, sometimes only one wheel spings (depends on which way I'm turning). But it hooks up when I'm in a straight line.
Anyway, the main concern for me is how it has gotten so quiet (the exhaust noise). Is that even possible?

Sorry can't think what would be wrong ... did you check all the little stuff like plugs and wires. BTW how did you git 400rwhp out of a cc305, i was thinking i would need a bigger cam than a cc 305 to get 380 rwhp from my engine.

I guess maybe I learned how to shift better or something. I don't bark the tires as much as I did...
I'm not sure about that horsepower rating either. The guy I bought it from said it had 400rwhp at most. I figure the setup would make anywhere from 380-420fwhp, which would equate to 350-390rwhp.

I was not able to determine whether you have a cat installed or not. If you have one installed it might be clogged or partially melted, which would cause a restriction that would both reduce the exhaust note and kill power.
As far as HP estimates go you really have no idea what you’re putting to the ground until you get on a dyno. Even if the cam is capable of 400 HP if you do not have a good tune to support it you could be down quite a bit. I picked up almost 50 HP with my dyno tune.
Good luck

MAy be your tuning, it may have been closer to optimum when you first put it in , and the computer is adjusting to what it thinks is best, unplug your pos battery cable and let it set for a while, then go run and see if the power returns. You may also be picking up some knock tha tis pulling timing out.
