355, GM LT4 heads, solid roller. 476.04 rwhp.

Went back to the dyno to try and continue working my 6800 rpm studder out. Since my 454 rwhp run I also changed to Jesel 1.6 shaft mount rockers. Well with Allans(futral motorsports) help we figured out my high end studder. We make alot of changes but looked like it was in the computer scalling(dfi gen 7). Fixed it and man..did this motor like to rev. Ended up making 476 rwhp and 408 rwtq. Peak power was at 6850ish and at 7200 it hadn't started falling off. If fact it was still flat to 7500 and lost only 5 hp or so from peak. I really think if I trusted mybottom end it would want to rev to 7800. But I just dont' trust a stock crank/two bolt main at that rpm.

It looks like I have a net gain of 54 rwhp from switching to the lt4s in my sig from my old lt1 castings. Also gained at least 500-600 rpms that I will be using at the track. My 10.7 runs in sig were short shifting at 6700 and coasting through the traps to avoid my bad studder problem that I use to have. I can't wait to get this thing in good weather.

I should be able to have a graph up in the next day or so.

Oh..forgot to mention. This was done on PUMP GAS and through a 9" and 4.71 gears. Throw a stock rear end in there and it would be in the 490s. Insane for a little 355 with gm castings.

Edit..added dyno link

Thanks guys.

Black..I have no idea what the 355 record would be. Would be nice to know but not important to me. It will be the fastest lt1 6 speed one day(mindgame don't count ) though. Unless Tanner keeps resetting the record I'm aiming at. I think its the fastest 6 speed below 360 cubes..But I don't play that. I want the whole thing including strokers/aftermarket heads(23 deg) and aftermarket intakes

could anything remotely close to that be achieved on a hydraulic roller?

Yeah some guys have made 450+rwhp with hydraulic rollers. You could make 470 or more with a hydraulic cam to. later

It would be tough to wind an engine the high with a hydrualic roller, maybe impossible.

Yes.

Congrats Tim! Not bad for a four year old 355 bottom end with hundreds of passes on it, LOL. Now with Allen Futral working the high end studder out... Taner MAY have his hands full on motor... will be a hell of a race. I'll have to put on the Don King wig and get this race lined up...
I can't wait to see the track times with full passes possible now, should stay in the 10's even in the heat.
For the hell of it you should go swap out the rearend from my TA for some stupid dyno #'s... I won't be back down there for a few months & the car is just sitting... would be funny...
Steve...
