Are you looking for a turn-key setup or a source for an engine? I can recommend two friends. Bret Bauer (he is on the board, you can PM him) can build you a nice motor to your specs. Bob Kennedy can do a turn-key, find him at www.kennedysdynotune.com There are also a number of advertisers who support the board that have good reputations.

Cost depnds on what you want and can afford. What were you planning to spend?

Golen has some good values, and a two year warranty too.

right now i don't have a budget . No money at all really just started a new job. So the car is going to sit for a while. but i was just wondering how much a nice setup would be. Im probably going to bolt a SC on it also. Just trying to get some ideas. and no this is not another "i want something that ill never get" im serious about this .

I have read more than one horror story about Golen.

Here's one I had bookmarked:

Re: 355 forged LT1

A motor built for a SC is not going to be horrible if run NA, but it isn't going to near full potential either. A blower car set up to run pump gas is going to need a low CR (8-9:1) and the cam is going to differ considerably from one optimized for NA use. So, you need to decide up front if you are building a blower car or an NA setup.

As far as price, you still need to answer the question: are you asking for ideas about a turn-key buildup or are you asking about what just a motor costs? A turn-key is going to include motor removal and displacement, tuning, etc.

Check with "RPM", they are a supporting advertiser. They did the machine work for my motor, and got the parts for me. Great guys that really know there stuff. You could also check with Bret like Rich said, he's a really good guy that will surely help you out.

I plan in putting it in myself. the reason i want to go with a SC is because as i understand i can make good power and still keep street legal (NJ). I would like to get everyting for under 10k (not including SC) and have it running. I dont care if it doesn't make alot of power before i strap on the blower After the blower i want to have just enought power to still be streetable (dont want to fly off the road .

The blower motor doesn't have to be a lot of cubes, but it should be planned out well so that it fits what you are doing with the blower. A mild street blower car could run 9-10:1 compression a mild cam and still be ok as a NA car before the blower is on.

Unless you are planning on well over 500rwhp the forged crank isin't 100% needed, but it doesn't hurt.

The big issue is that nothing is 100% reliable on a blower setup is the tuning is off, I don't care if you have gods pistons in there you can still break a ringland off the thing.

The key to any motor build is:

1. How much money do I have to spend
2. How much power do I want

Then make sure those two things match.
