355 First Dyno run(LE2 Set UP)
Re: 355 First Dyno run(LE2 Set UP)
Just to let you guys know, this is NOT the typical LE2 cam. It is for an Impala and a 6200-6300 RPM shift point. This is very close to the LE1 cam we use in F body's.
It is in the LOW 220's on duration.
I was expecting these #'s AFTER the dyno tune. Anything over these #'s will be icing on the cake. It would be nice to make 395-400 RWHP with that little cam. Most would be happy to make these #'s with a cam that has 10-15 degrees more duration like the CC 306 or GM 847.
This thing will make TONS of TQ and idle similar to the CC 503 cam and be just as drivable.

Nice of you to chime in Lloyd - good points about the setup. You did a great job with this and you're dead on about driveability. This thing hauls a$$ and you almost can't tell the cam is there!!

damn you lloyd!!! every time i see a post of someone with a set of your heads it makes me want to write a check that minute. we are going to have to talk in the near future. what can you do for a blower setup?
Re: 355 First Dyno run(LE2 Set UP)
I guess we will get some track times after we get the A/F a lil more on the "safe" side.
Most people are making more power with my set ups by PULLING timing above 5800 RPM. Some run as little as 33 degrees so you might drop it a degree or two and see what happens. Just because there is not any detonation doesn't mean that the timing is at its best place. Every set up is a lil different so 42 might be what this one need but most people find 36 to 34 top be the best.
cjmatt, If you think my set ups have been putting down some good #'s, wait about another month or so and the #'s will be even better. A few months back i stumbled across a few tricks that really made a difference in making power and about 2 weeks ago I stumbled across a few more tricks that will make a similar jump in the HP #'s on my set ups.
I will have more and more stock bottom ends and 355's making over 385-390 RWTQ and I am not talking about "converter flash", I am talking ACTUAL RWTQ #'s. Most 383's are happy to do this.
