Exclamation 3440 # convertible BS or what

I went to weigh my car last night because some of the dip sh@ts in my home town think my convertible weighs the same as their hard tops.. The scale read 3440 with nobody in the car but 2 years ago before subframes, sub box and alot of other things that add weight it weighed 3850 how the hell does that happen... One guy said he put headers on his car and lost 200#s on the same scale wtf .... People are stupid sometimes.. Does anybody know what a factory 95 z convertible is rated weight wise i know it is not 3440....... thanks

I would try to find another scale for a second opinion. If it is a heavy truck scale, it might not be accurate on something so "light".

I agree with Shoebox about finding a different scale. Since you're in Indiana, with grain elevators all over the place, find one close by and ask if you can weigh on their scales. They are generally fairly accurate. The one I weigh at here doesn't charge me.

weighted mine 4 nights ago at the track. With me in it, half tank of gas, full stereo, and a 6 point bar it weighted in at 3960.

I don't know how accurate the scales I used are. But mine weighed in at 3850 (without driver). That's with nothing removed and all kinds of heavy stuff added (12-bolt, SC, water injection, Street Twin, roll bar, etc.) and a nearly full tank. I haven't weighed it since the TH400 swap and swapping the S-trim for an F1, which I bet addded weight.

Oink oink!
