30ibs svo injectors
30ibs svo injectors
A question for you guys! can you run 30lbs ford 30 lbs injectors with a stock 24 lbs injector program tune? Having trouble loading up grade program with new cables. It just a injector change.
Re: 30ibs svo injectors
If you don't change the injector constant you will not see the results you are looking for. But I see you have a 383 so you'll probably be fine since it needs more fuel to feed the cubes and the cam you're running.
Re: 30ibs svo injectors
A 30# SVO will flow about 31.6 #/HR at your stock fuel pressure. If the PCM is tuned for stock injectors, it should be set at 24.9 #/HR. That means the SVO's will flow 27.0 % more than the stock injectors. The long term fuel corrections can only pull 15.6% excess fuel out. In closed loop, you will be relying on the short terms for pull the rest out. At WOT/PE mode, you will be running 27% rich. That means a well-tuned 13.0:1 will run at 10.2:1. That's probably rich enough to foul plugs and start to wash the lubrication off the cylinder walls, put fuel in the oil and generally mess things up.

Re: 30ibs svo injectors
It doesn't matter what the displacement is. The MAF (assuming your son's car is not a 93) will see the actual air flow, whether its a 383 or a 355. The MAF gets the air flow right, the PCM multiplies the MAF reading by the target A/F ratio to get the mass flow rate for fuel. If the engine consumes more air because of the displacement, the PCM will be able to compensate. But when you put in an injector that flows 27% more than the PCM thinks it will, it provides 27% excess fuel above the amount calcualted from the mass air flow.
