306 cam

I bought a 306 cam for my Z28, my only question is that my heads have been polished and have had a vlave job not too long ago but they haven't been ported. I was wondering how much of a difference there would be if i did both. The only reason i am not going ahead and automatically doing both is that finantial reasons. I will have to wait several months in order to be able to put both in. Is it worth the wait and the extra $$$?

Yes, it is well worth the effort to have your heads ported and polished to take full advantage of the cam. This cam tends to do best in the upper rpm range where there is lots of cfm's. You absolutely won't regret having your heads massaged a little. I have heard that they work will stock heads. Don't forget to get your pcm retuned for the cam.
