3 & 5 crossed

after dropping my motor out i noticed that the 3 & 5 wires were crossed...
how much does this affect my performance?

i put about 10k on my engine this way...

will my et drop at all?

and could this be why i had a misfire code?

i made this video when wires were crossed... the car runs real freakin rich and has a bit of backfire... i thought it was just the borla...

can you tell something is wrong? i really couldn't...

yeah, i pretty much do my own work now... unless it is the differential or the tranny....

I had 2 reversed and i could not get the car out of the garage. The vibration was like someone plugged the exhaust pipes with bananas. I was thinking it was running on 1/2 the cylinders but maybe the ones that are wrong makes all the difference. Mine must have been the 2 worst to be reversed.

when I first bought my 89 RS it had 3 and 5 crossed. It ran rich and popped a lot. Also smelled and got horrible gas milage. After I changed the plugs and wires during normal service I noticed the problem, after switching them back and making sure all the other wires where in the right place I took it for a drive and HOLY CRAP what a difference! I just thought it was cause it was a 305 and had over 200K miles that it was so sluggish but I was wrong.

Here's your sign

No muffler will make it run rich.

Didn't you notice the performance decrease, running rich and backfiring after the wire change that wasn't there before the wire change???????

A line lock would make a skateboard look good. But when you let off the brake and took off, it sounded down on power.

I would be concerned about the health of the 2 cylinders in question. Souping is bad for the cylinder walls. Time for a borescope!!!!!!!
