3/4 or 1' Breslins?

I tried to search but could not come up with an anwser. I'm about to buy Breslin locking header bolts and I'm wondering WHY go with 1", why not just go with 3/4". Is there really any advantage to have that extra 1/4 in the head??I ask this because it seems everyone is always saying to get the 1" but they never say why.

Well I would say 1" because it gives an extra 1/4" of threads into the heads and that really helps you from stripping the holes out when you are tightening them down.

Exactly that is why I went with the 1".

With a 3/4" bolt, after you take away the thickness of the header flange and the gasket you may be left with 3/8" or so of the bolt thread in the head. Remember, these are aluminum heads you are cranking that header bolt into, not steel, so there is even more of a chance to strip a thread. I went with 1" ARP bolts when I did my SLP headers, there really isnt any reason not to go with the longer bolts, it just makes more sense.

I went with the 1" because of reasons stated above, plus I've got some Jet-Hot headers, thick flanges, and the 1" fit w/o bottoming out.
