i have been told the adapters are very prone to leaking so if your gonna do it i would not get an ebay model, spend the couple extra bucks on a good one

Absolutely do not buy an EBAY reject adapter. I learned the hard way. Buy a name brand one like the GM or Moroso. It also needs to be properly aligned with an alignment tool you can make yourself or purchase. If your seal leaks, the motor has to come out and be completely disassembled. We ended up drilling aligning holes for dowel pins to be installed to keep it from moving around.

I've used a variety of the adaptors available with good success over a period of several years. I prefer the Moroso unit but I've also used the one from Competition Products in Oshkosk, Wisconsin with no problems. Be sure that the gasket sealing the adaptor to the back of the block is sound. DO USE the correct alignment tool!!! The ONLY time I had any leak was when I used a good adaptor but tried to center it without the alignment tool.

I just checked the Goodson online catalog and I see that they sell the tool for less than $25. I had one machined out of billet steel in the interest of making sure that it's round and durable.
