2nd crank start why?
hey guys just bought me an lt1 got some questions.
1. runs great but starts on second crank every time?
previouse owner repared intake elbow could that be the reason, ive read some issues on that.
Or could it be anything to do with no cat or the tune on the car i have one of those tuner u plug in and tune the car i havent messed with it yet it came with the car he already set everything so i left it alone since its running fine, so any suggestions? thankx guys youve been alot of help before.

To begin with you should tell us what you have before asking any specific questions, e.g., M-6 or A4, year, etc.
Also, what type of plug-in thing are you talking about?
And...if the plenum to the tb is not sealed, which often found to be the case, especially at the bottom side, you definitely will have issues, likewise if there is a rip/hole in that plenum.
The more specific you are, the more specific the reponse. JMHO

Check your fuel pressure with the car off to see if it bleeds down. It is common for the check valve in fuel pumps to go bad so when the car is off the fuel in the lines releases back into the tank, in which case causes you to crank multiple times allowing time for the fuel pressure to build back up for the car to start. Or you could have a leaking injector which lets the fuel pressure leak into the intake manifold.

The check valve is inside of the fuel pump and the fuel pump is inside of the fuel tank. You can't replace just the "check valve" per se, if that is the problem you will have to replace the whole fuel pump. The way to check your fuel pressure is to get a "fuel pressure tester" and there is a schrader valve on the back of the fuel rail that you attach the fuel pressure tester to. Testing the fuel pressure and finding out if the pressure drops with the car off will just help you narrow the problem down to a fuel problem... if that is what it is.
