I've heard of people using 275s on a 8.5" wheel, but I was curious if anyone used these tires for a longer period, in a daily driven car. Was the tread wear even?

I have some 17" C5 wheels and I'd like to use some Nittos in the back. Trying to decide if I should go 255s or 275s. (I've had 255s before and they were ok)

 

I assume you are wanting to use 275/40s, they should work aslong as you are not doing skidpad test every you go. I run 275/60/16s on a truck with 7.5 wheels and no problems.
