Whats the most lift you guys are putting on your 26918 springs my new cam is .609-.610 and im being told the 26918 spring will work fine with that lift, The heads are le2 heads and the springs where setup by Elliott portworks.

I just installed a set of these springs and damaged one. I ordered a replacement from comp, and it looked different than the rest. Inside the box, it stated the part # has been redesigned. It is now good to .625 max lift. The old ones had a blue markings on them, are a silver satin finish. So, I think your still in spec, should be fine.

As with any springs, it depends on the installed height. Coil bind on this sribng is 1.140". You should allow at least 0.060" clearance from coil bind. So, if this height is installed at 1.800" there would be marginal clearance with 0.610" lift (0.050"). That might be ok IF you checked each spring carefully for at least that much clearance. I like to run them tight because I think it help damp harmonics. But that's on a drag motor that sees lots of maintainence with periodic spring replacemnt. And even there, I never run them closer than 0.060" and I wouldn't do that on a street car.

IOW, I wouldn't do it if your installed height is 1.800". Now, you could install them higher, but the pressure on the seat is only 130# at 1.80" and that is about as low as you should go, IMHO.
