236/242 cam...stock 1.5rr's capable of handling Comp 918springs?

Got the wrong rocker arms sent to me, THANK YOU RACENET!!!!!

Can I use the stock 1.5rr's for the time being till I work out the exchange of rocker arms. I wasnt sure and didnt find any answers searching if the stock 1.5rr's could handle the pressure of the Comp 987 springs..any input?

I'll only be using the stockers for about 2 weeks or so...

I dont see why the couldnt work. I'm just wondering if the springs will hold the lift of that cam.

I don't see a Comp 918 spring. What spring do you REALLY mean? I was researching springs for when I put in the Crane cam similar to yours and there was basically NO Comp Cam spring I could use. Ended up ordering the Crane 893s.

I am not familiar with that spring. But if it's for a HR cam, it you don't rev it very high it will probably be ok. Keep it under 3,500 or so. Of course, you will have to the springs all over again, so if it were me, I'd wait. What's the big hurry? You won't be able to really make use of the cam anyway.

Minor point "rr" is usally used to refer to "roller rockers", not the stock type rocker.

Doh!! My bad, I meant the 987 springs....they should be able to handle the lift (.561/.575 with 1.6rr's and .521/.545 with 1.5rr's) and I dont plan to rev my bottom end over 6200-6300.

The only thing is that you don't have rr's (roller rockers) stock. And because of that, if you're referring to use the stock stamped rocker arms, you need to check the slot clearance in the factory rocker arm to make sure it doesn't bind to the rocker stud at max lift. Roller rockers can support much more lift than a regular stamped rocker arm unless you get the long-slot versions of the stockers.
