I'm looking to buy it, but comp sells it on a 113 lsa, probly +4 as most of them are, id have to call and see. anyways, would there be anything to gain by ordering it on a tighter lsa or maybe not as advanced(assuming it is +4) maybee a 108 lsa and no advance? dont really know, thanks -Dave

It's NOT just a matter of saying I want a 108 or 112 or???.
That's a pretty big cam unless ya got heads and compression.
FWIW a 4* advance or any advance helps the bottom end TQ.

cars got stock heads, 11.0:1 compression. i just got a friends motor running in my car. stock motor with an 847. its nowhere near as bad as i thought it would be. the cam seems like it makes more than enough bottom end torque to me. i have a smaller cam that was gonna go in my motor but after driving the 847 around a bit id rather use my small cam as a paperweight

The 847 isn't the best cam either.
Ya want a cam to shine put a gear in it.

yes sir it has a tune. runs pretty good too.... dies every once in a while though lol
eventually my motor will get heads. id like to get something that will take advantage of them when i do get them rather then swap cams.

the block was not zero decked. it was decked enough to clean it up. im assuming for now that its gonna be .020 in the hole(since the "stock" deck height is supposed to be 9.026). gonna use a .026 gasket. heads were ccd at 53 ccs. 5.7 rod. 4.030 bore. stock 3.48 crank.

It isnt a very good tune if it dies. The 847 is a nice cam, but your car should not die with a good tune.

Ya can run more than 11.8 if ya want to. I am running 13.3 static on pump gas with a 9.1DCR but I built it do do it and 12-12.5 would not hurt it if the DCR is below 9.0.
Re: 230/236 xfi
honestly, its got 5 gallons of good gas i just put in it, who knows how much gas was in there while it was sitting for 6 months and the fuel pressure is a little high cause the stock regulator cant handle the racetronix pump. i think once i get that stuff taken care of it should be ok. its only been running for a couple days. it only dies when i turn sharply. well see what happens. it also has a hair of hesitation off idle, still looking into that. also, i said it had a tune, never said it was a good one, only said the motors running pretty good
