2 Quetions: About to Install new cam.
I've got everything taken apart and I'm about to remove the old cam and put my new cam in. I have a few questions.
1. My car is a '94. I'm following the StreetIllusions guide to swap the cam out. In the guide they removed a "crank sensor plate". Mine didn't have one, is it a OBDII thing?
2. My front Oil pan seal looks a little ragged in the cornrers, will a little RTV Gasket Maker fix that up? If not, how hard is it to remove the oil pan with the engine still in the car??
3. Ho long are our water pumps good for? Mine has 65K on it, should I replace it?

1. no crank sensor plate (only on 96's i beleive)
2. rtv is a quik fix that you will regret later.....might as well replace the gasket....its cheap and easy.
3. since the h2o pumps are gear driven they last longer (typically) my only advise is inspect the hole in the back of the pump look for coolant residue - water pumps are also cheap and easy to put in (during a cam install) and its good life insurance for the opti
