2 codes that is giving me a ?
2 codes that is giving me a ?
Ok 1st code is the knock sensor that i replaced recently and the other one is MAP sensor or something high voltage?
what is this about and how come the knock sensor didnt fix after i replaced the old one with a new one?

Re: 2 codes that is giving me a ?
Was it DTC 43 for the knock sensor? Did you check to insure you have +5V on the harness wire with the connector off the sensor, measured to ground on the engine block? Did you verify the knock sensor had a resistance of 3,500-5,500ohms, measured from the pin to the block ground? After reconnecting the harness wire, did you verify that the voltage measured between the wire and the block was in the range of 1.5-3.5V?
There are 2 codes for the MAP sensor:
DTC 33 = Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor circuit (signal voltage high, low vacuum)
DTC 34 = Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor circuit (signal voltage low, high vacuum)
Which one did you get?

high voltage!
and on the knock sensor i didnt test anything cause i do not have a tester
when i replaced it jsut recently the SES went off when driving, but came back on at idle.
before i repalced it the SES was always on. So i figured that i fixed that problem replacing the KS.

Re: 2 codes that is giving me a ?
D@mn this is confusing... your topic says you have two codes that are causing you a "?", but now you are saying that you only have the one for the MAP sensor because after you replaced the KS the SES light went out?
Did you have two codes when you started, or just the KS code when you started? After the SES light went out, and then reappeared, did you then scan it again to see why it was on, and then find the MAP sensor code? Or was the KS code still there?

Re: 2 codes that is giving me a ?
havent had a chance to look at the MAP sensor but if the little gromet on the bottom of it is missing. Do you think this would cause a code?
Well maybe not cause of the HIgh Voltage. Why is this?

Sorry i will reinform you on what happen..
Ok my car was scanned and gave me a code 43 for false knock. Replaced it. Light went out and then after about 15 min of driving the light came back on. Only at a stop or idle, not during driving. Took it back to get scanned and now another code appeared along with the 43 code..
the DTC 33 and DTC 43.
I just called the shop were my car is at because i am getting my oil pump driveshaft replaced cause it blew up while driving.
anyways. They told me that it was giving 2 codes the 33 and 43.
Re: 2 codes that is giving me a ?
Did they clear the DTC 43 after they replaced the KS? If not, it could be a stored code, and not a problem.
Seems like I'm annoying you by trying to get enough info to help you, so I'll drop out and let someone else help.

Re: 2 codes that is giving me a ?
No you are not annoying me. I dont mind..
also no the codes were not cleared!
One thing i remember from replacing the KS is that i remmeber seeing this wire (PCM/SENSOR ground) connected to my oil pan bolt.

Re: 2 codes that is giving me a ?
I have this DTC 33 on my car right now and I'm not sure what it is, so I'm interested in anyones thoughts on this subject. On mine though, I think it is just because of the size of the cam.
