1st or 2nd gear burnout?

Like the subject says...which is better and why? And what RPM do you dump the clutch at to get the tires spinning?

Do a burn out in 2nd gear when at the track. You can get more RPM and more velocity when you do a burn out in 2nd gear.

I do 3rd

Why not shift? Because its really hard to keep the car in the box while shifting. You want to get you tires spinning hard in water, roll out a little, heat them on pavement. Once they start to hook you will hear them squeal and will pull rpms down. Off brake and roll out spinning.

When I was running an M6 I would start in first and shift to second. However, I was using a line lock. Without the line lock I would just start in second.

Ya, 1st or 2nd for me. Depends on what I'm feeling like at the time. Agree with unTAmedLS1 on burning up the clutch though. This would explain why my SS got put up 2 months early for winter. Oh well, this summer it will be pulling out with either a new SPEC 3 or McLeoud to play with. If ya can't pay to fix then don't break I guess.
