When I took the Koni DA's off my 96 and replaced them with SLP valved Bilsteins the price for all four SLP's was a "little" more the the cost of one Koni replacement shock. I broke the driverside front and noone was rebuilding them at the time. B. Strano told me might as well replace all four instead of doing just one, which is what led me to SLP.

The friggin dealer I bought car from couldn't even find the replacement Koni on his computer. I must of had over ten phone calls over the two days my car was in there. Finally told them to button it up with broken shock and drove to SLP in NJ where they did it in a few hours.

People are buying this "Stuff" because not everyone is fithy rich and can afford a new set of XXX aftermarket (and superior) springs/shocks.

http://www.gyrhead.com/special.htm
The above site is advertising 4 1LE springs, 4 1LE shocks and a 1LE swaybar for $189 + Shipping.
If your shocks are needing replacment and/or your springs are sagging and you just want to replace them this is FAR cheaper then buying the stock replacements and WAY more cheaper than buying a whole new set of XXXX aftermarket brand shocks/springs.

I have ~150,000 mi on these shocks and springs, none are blown and I don't mind replacing them with something that feels near stock if the price is right. The stockers lasted more than long enough for me...

I think the confusion was that the people buying the front springs were under the impression that they were 360lbs 1LE front springs... when they were really getting what GM now calls the 1LE front springs which are equivilant to the stock front springs
