1LE elbow opening size?
1LE elbow opening size?
Does anyone know the diameter of the opening on the 1LE elbow? I'm thinking about using the 1LE elbow for a custom turbo application and from what I remember, it was 3" which I'm hoping it is. But then again, I remember it being bigger than 3" Anyone know for sure?
I'm trying to get a 3" intercooler pipe to go into it.
Thanks!

Re: 1LE elbow opening size?
Is the stock elbow 3" ID?
Right now, I have a 2.5" to 3" silicon connector going into the throttle body so, I don't have a stock elbow to take measurements off of.

Re: 1LE elbow opening size?
Many of us have used the Fernco 3"x3" sewer pipe connector to run from the MAF sensor to the throttle body. The Fernco is actually 3.38" inside diameter, and fits like a glove, at least after you soak it in hot water to soften it enough to go around the oval throttle body.
Re: 1LE elbow opening size?
Are you looking for at the TB or at the MAF?
I have a 3" coupler going between the MAF and TB, it fits correctly over the MAF and needs to be streched a little to get around the TB but it works...
This makes me think the MAF end is 3" and the TB end is like 3.25" or so...

Re: 1LE elbow opening size?
Whoops, well I guess since my coupler is the fernco too, it really isn't 3" like it states, as Injuneer and anaik proved. But I hope this helps you figure out what you need to do...
