1997 z28/turbo 400 w/406ci??

Im new to this and need some ideas on motor decisions. I really want a nice street/strip every once n a while. but ive been told some good and bad things about going carb on a 400ci. I really dont wana have to cut up my car trying to make it work. And some have told me to go with a LQ4 or LQ9 fuel injected. Just havent decided. Any input is appreciated.

What's wrong with building a stout LT1 (383 or 396?) and keeping it injected with the factory PCM? Relatively easy to make over 500HP at the flywheel. What kind of HP are you looking for? What's your budget? Are you considerig a power adder?

I thought about it but just wanted to go bigger cubes. But bigger isnt always better but Ive heard some good and bad about lt1 motors. Im looking to be at least 500hp on motor and im looking to do no more than a 200 shot. $$$ isnt really a option knowing racing isnt cheap. I was looking to get my motor going first then work on suspension. I had my th400 rebuilt already.
