The Holley ECU is really pretty nice, especially coming from a stock ECU. Tunes upload in about 10 seconds, and there is not sitting on the edge of your seat questing whether or not your ECU is going to brick. The flexibility is pretty awesome as well, I have a version of the tune that triggers the EWP at 5% TPS so I can bleed the cooling system without the car running (with the car hot). The digital dash is also pretty epic.
That is one of the nice things about having an injector that is known by the Holley, it already has the details of the injector tuned:
This was the information I had to hunt down on the Lucas injectors. So either the information I found was incorrect, or the injectors need some TLC. In either case, I don't really want to spend money on something I need to replace anyhow.
Thanks Fred, I had seen them, they were just a bit high cost wise on the Siemens. They do list the Deka 80 as a replacement for the LT1/4, so I will likely go this route since the tuner has experience with them with applications upwards of 800HP. I am just trying to find a good price at this point, as I have seen Ebay stuff as low as $150 (likely knock off), to $300-350, then as high as $440 from FIC. I need to do some hunting then pull the trigger. The car is going to sit until this happens, no more potential issues.

With the holidays about, it took close to 3 weeks to get the new injectors in. The Deka’s installed with no hassle and I was able to get the car more dialed in with the tuner.
The car has about 50 miles down and is running pretty well. I haven’t gone passed about 50% throttle and 4500 rpm, but it feels really strong for 9.5 CR and N/A.
I am planning on pulling the filter tomorrow to look for any filings. I also pulled a couple of the plugs after the first drive and am now seeing a chocolate color versus black and wet.
The last change is on the throttle body, which explains my terrible idle before. With the blades open, the lowest I could get the IAC once warm was 94% (roughly 2 steps per %). I found articles about the stock TB having a vent port between the IAC and decided to give the mole modification a try. I stepped up from 1/8” to 1/4” in 1/64” increments before I was finally able to get the IAC down to 4% at warm idle. The idle is SO much better.
^^^ The carnage. Everything is replaced, and it fired right up. I replaced the tensioner as well, just in case. The cam and crank leads were a little long which helped this failure, I I tidied up a little bit. I will likely end up ordering some additional metripac pins and just taking the slack out of the cables, but will wait for the super charger to see how things end up wanting to be routed.
Forward some, backwards some. I pulled the pan today so I can have an oil return bung welded in. I had to raise the engine and lower the cross member to get it out. It was so sad to do since it wasn’t leaking.
I also added some goodies to the car from Detroit speed:
A coloring book? Everything was nicely put together. My mounts were such garbage. The upgrade is pretty awesome. The mounts to the frame rail sandwich and fit really well. Of course I added ARP... The fender mount before the change. Looking at the fender mount after removing the old stuff. Installed. My only gripe is there wasn’t a whole lot of metal in the body where they wanted to 1/4x20 tap for their bolts. I ended up getting longer bolts and working really hard to get a washer and nuts on the back side.
I took the opportunity and pulled the front fuel lines out of the front of the car and got about half way through getting the lines up to the tank. Time for 1/2 & 3/8 lines for boost
Just a little bit more work. I had been waiting for some time on parts.
New sway bars finally arrived.
New dual fuel pump and lines (still need lines from the tank to the filter.
Dual pump setup from Squash performance:
I was able to get the pump installed in the tank, but still have to get the lines from the sending unit to the filter and return. I was able to sort out most of the electrical on the tank, but need to figure out the runs up to the battery and hobbs switch. Ill try to post more next weekend, working outside in Vegas during the summer is no joke…
