Lightbulb 1996 trans ams with lt1 service engine light coolant fans

one of my 1996 trans Am's needs a tranny put in... I just bought the other and put heads on it, I am noticing that the service engine soon light comes on just before the fans turn on and go off with fans, could this be because there is an air pocket? had a hard time getting enough air out to make the heat work, just looking for ideas, it doesn't seem to have any other problems, any feedback is welcomed, thanks in advance, Fred

The fans come on because of the SES. Scan it to find out what codes you might have. Air pockets don't usually cause such.

This is what happens when you post the same problem on multiple forums:

Interesting.... in the other post you indicated you had an LS1 engine????
