1994 camaro z28 NEED HELP
Ok i have a 94 z28 camaro has the 4l60e it has around 100xxx miles on it but runs great. one day the car just started to slip i have no idea why? Only 3rd gear slips. Is their a sensor or something that could of went bad for this to happen? I need to get this fixed soon. -ray

Welcome to the board. The tech forums are a good place to look for such answers. In my experience, a tranny with 100k that is starting to slip can generally benefit from a rebuild/freshening...

The 94 has the 4L60E electronically controlled trans. There are trouble codes for several tranny problems, including the solenoids. But the codes do not turn on the SES light, so you need to get it scanned to see if there are any codes. That leads to the next problem - finding a reasonably priced OBD-I scanner. You can't flash the codes on the SES light by shorting the ALDL pins, starting in 94. There is free scanning software available, if you want info on that.

I pretty much answered this question with my post, above. You need to have it scanned for codes.
ok i have a 1994 camaro z28 it runs great and everything. I have the auto trans (4l60e) it just started to slip really bad one day so thats when i stop to drive it. Could it be a sensor or something? It is only 3rd gear the rest of them are fine. PLEASE HELP
