1994 Camaro LT1 Oil Leak

I have not had a chance to look at the car since the time change and work so I figured I'd ask. Anyways, the car is leaking oil and its kind of hard to find. I can see it leaks onto the header (passenger side) and I see the starter looks to be getting oil on it as well. I don't drive it and it smokes since it gets onto the exhaust. It's funny because I never drive the poor thing and now it's having trouble after a short weekend drive to the store

Thanks,

Where exactly on the header is the oil leaking? Up top near the primaries or down near the collector? Oil on the starter is most likely the dreaded intake leak.

Looks like it is coming from the top somewhere, I just looked for it for like 5 minutes or so one day from the bottom. What is the "Dreaded Intake Leak", I saw you mentioned it before in the forums. How is it fixed? Is this just a replacement of the intake manifold gasket or something?

They usually leak oil from the front or the back of the intake where the Black Silicone goes since there is no rubber piece that seals the front and back.

Thanks, I actually did a quick search and found this which seems to be helpful.

Thanks, However I actually got some time today to go out and really look at it. I still did not see anything really related to the intake although I may not have looked well enough. I did however see this, do you think this could be my problem? Its like the fuel rail schrader valve is missing a cap and is quiet wet around it and on the tube. I don't understand if a cap fell off it or what, and I don't know if this could be the leak so I suppose I will head back out there to smell around. Here is a photo...

By the way it's located on the back of the intake.

This is a photo of after I drove it down the street and back, notice it already showing signs of leakage.

I dont think putting a cap on that fuel rail will solve your oil leak problem. in the pic you took i c that there is black under the fuel rail. It still looks to me like the back of the intake where it sits on the block is leaking.

Yeah you're probably right, that cap missing is not a problem. ugh.

i'd make sure that the fluid on the fuel rail isnt fuel. If it is i'm sure a new stem in that thing will fix it.
