Re: 1993 z28

ok guys fuel pressure is ok had it checked at a shop put on new filter but still has the sluggish feel to it at low mid rpm if you slowly push throttle down it just bogs a little till it gets rpm's up sounds to me like it is sucking in alot of air when i do it.
thanks for help so far

Re: 1993 z28

Getting a shop to check your fuel pressure isn't the same as checking it under load. You need a fuel pressure gauge to monitor while you're drive the car....

I just re-read the whole thread to see what you'e told us so far...which turns out to be only a little. What have you done since the problem has cropped up? Here's what we are going to ask anyway, so you might as well check 'em all...

1) Fuel pressure under load. Like mentioned, you just need a FP gauge. You simply tape it to the windshield so you can see it when you are driving. Glance over when you have the problem and record the pressure.

2) Spark plug wires. Look at the complete length of them to make sure they aren't burned. Check the connections at both the plugs and the OPTI cap.

3) Spark plugs. Pull the easiest one you can reach and take a look. If they are the stock plugs check the gap...they might have lost the little platinum pucks. This results in a much larger gap and a poor idel, etc.

I'm sure there are more possibilities for a narrow rpm band weakness or stumble...like the an OPTI getting ready to fail, etc, but start with these abd report back. Also fix anything you know to be a problem...a weak battery, etc....

Good luck,

Check to make sure the intake elbow (rubber piece going on the throttle body) is not cracked on the bottom side. Also, make sure it is slid on there good and tight.

Not a big issue on his 93. There is no MAF sensor that the air would bypass.
