1993 Z with 26K Need Help!

1993 Z with 26K Need Help!

Hello, I had a problem at 23k the engine was breaking up the the dealer changed the distributor and it seem to be Ok, now the car has 26k and the problem is back! the car is a automatic and has flowfasters and a k&n Filter does this mean the distributor is NG again! Please let me konw MuscleZ

I don't know. But you've got me beat on the mileage for a 93. TTT for ya.

Drive your cars man. I would rather have a car that has been through 10 engines and has 1million miles on the Odometer than just looking at a car in the driveway. I suppose to each his own.

Sounds like your optispark (distributer) took a crap.

after intense analysis of you thread i have identified the problem.
the car only has 23k miles on it! let me borrow it for a summer i'll but another 20k on it for ya!
just kiddn (although i did put 20k on my car this summer)
sorry i can't help you on your problem but it sounds like you've got a nice clean car, congrats! luckily i haven't ran into any ignition problems yet....knock on wood.

Check it for codes? A bad opti will give you a DTC. Also, whats the car exactly doing? Dealers love to just blame the opti and go from there. It could be a bad ignition coil.

Check to make sure your water-pump isnt going down on you. Let your car idle and check to see if any coolant is coming out of the weep hole of the waterpump. When coolant lands on the opti (distributo) it'll blow everytime. Good Luck.
