IIRC, it was clocked at 219mph, not 212. Very fast either way.

there is a calculator on here somewhere with stock Ratios and with 410's you can run over 240 before redline " according to calculations" assuming you have a **** load of HP

At the race track , trapping 113 dont feel like 55 .
The fastese I ever went was on wide open freeway when Me and my best friend where racing//My LT1 Bird vs His LT1 camaro..we hot about 150 and it felt like MACH 1!!! I dont see how it felt like"55" The road is passing so fast that You feel like you couldnt safely turn the wheel and inch w/out catashtopihc consequence .
Re: 180 mph
our cars dont get squirrley at ~180mph, my 95 firebird felt perfectly fine cruising at that speed and above, and it wasnt even lowered or had any great tires or suspension mods at that time. 160mph with the t-tops off is pretty harsh though, and also costs about 30mph on your top speed
im not real sure of the exact #s on a 4th gen, but on a typical 3rd gen camaro it only takes about 500hp at the crank to hit 200mph. i dont know off the top of my head if 4th gens are more or less aerodynamic than 3rd gens. they have a better COD for sure, but i dont know if they might have more frontal area

Re: 180 mph
I've done 180mph in my 95 formula. I have projection headlights (98+ conversion) 306 cam, heads etc. I did it before changing to my 4.11's No way possible now. One of my headlight covers ripped off around 160 though. Kinda sucked but cool!!

Re: 180 mph
I pegged my speedo in 5th and it was still pulling like crazy([sigh]if only I could go to 8K rpms) I shut it down Im guessing around 165-170. I kindof wish I had gotten a custom gearset .1 numerically lower to give me a tad higher top speed....just 'cuz. Maybe one day I'd like to go to Bonneville and have it clocked. Its on the way to my aunt's.(Hmmmm....tempting.
)
And that was with one 180 lb pass.(Passenger seat) and one 200 lb pass.(passenger side rear seat) Good thing because it would have been much less stable with just my 140 lb butt in there. I cant imagine that lol.
(Closed course, open straight, raised limiter) Drive safe guys!!!
