17x11 wheels and rear stud ?'tion
17x11 wheels and rear stud ?'tion
I'm just wondering if 17x11 wheels with a 50mm offset will fit in the back without having to change the studs? The largest tire size i'm gonna put on is gona be 275 or 285...
Mine fit , but you have less room than on stock rims. I tried addind a 1/4 in spacer once and had limited stud thread contact (2 turns)
Other issues I found.
If/when you go to 315'5 you will need an adjustable panhard and a small sledge hammer to clear the tight spots in the wheel well. Stock LCA's will rub as well. And the joice bumper needs to be grinded a bit - likely a good idea to lower it as well.
I run G Force KD's on that offset and the eibach pro kit and find I have little room between the tire edge and inner fender lip. I may roll the fender or raise the rear 1/2 inch just in case.

Thanks for the info guys.. I guess I should be fine for now with just the 275's, no spacers and stock studs. Wheels come on Monday- can't wait!!!
Time to put the OZ's for sale!!

One other possible problem with the wheels, and not dependant on what size tire you put on them...... the edge of the jounce bumper bracket sticks out, and can catch the inside of the wheel as the axle drops when you jack the car. I cut the edge of the brackets completely off to avoid any problems.
What you need to do to fit the 17x11's depends first on which offset/backspacing you bought, and how the build tolerances stack up on your particular car. Some people bolt the 17x11 50mm offset, 315/35-17 combo on with no problems at all, others need to cut the jounce bumper brackets, hammer the inner fenders, roll the fender lip and/or recenter the body over the axle with an adjustable panhard rod.
I would personally avoid use of a spacer it at all possible.
