17" tires and 160 thermostat

hey everybody.
i just put some 17" ss wheels and firehawk tires on my '94 z28 along with a 160 thermostat. question is, my speedo i heard will not be accurate. also, i need to program to come on at i believe 180 now, since i installed the hypertech 160 thermo. Where can i get these things reprogrammed and how huch will it cost me? can i still drive it around without screwing something up?
thanks

Get a hypertech power programmer for both of these problems.

As far as the tire goes, its not the size of the rim that makes the difference. Its the overall diameter. I went from stock to 315/35/17 and i didn't need to to touch the ratio. I can't remeber off hand cause its been a while but i believe stock is somewhere around 26" od .
As for the thermostat goes, your not gona hurt anything by not reprogramming the fans, its simply gona take a little longer for your car to warm up and then finally it will run at the same temp it did before. I'm on on the west coast so i'm not familiar with the programers in your area, but my advise would be just to take it to somebody and get a full tune done. Hypertech chips and programmers are good but you cant get the same gains that a custom tailored program are gona give ya.

good luck Mike
