315/35's should be put on 11 in rims not 9.5s like blue bird said and yes 11's will fit on the rear of a 4th gen. If you have a 7.75 back spacing.

Hey bluebird, I'm from Willingboro and my folks still live there. It's nice to see someone from home.

Try gluing the inside of the sidewall to the outer lip of the rims.

i dont know how they would handle but i know they will look terrible because the sidewall is going to bulge out quite abit. i wouldn't do it.

On the left... 315/35 on a 17x11" wheel.

On the right.... 275/40 on a 17x9.5" wheel.

Think what the 315 would look like crimped onto the 9.5" wheel......

Tire size comparison

Yes, you can do it. I have pictures of a car that has that setup, 9.5" wheels, with 315 nitto's.

That is actually the only picture I have. I won that auction, bu tI am only going to put 275's or maybe 285's on the wheels. The guy said they had to roll the fender to get those to fit.

Handle fine...probably not. Too much bulge and flexing will occur. You might get good straight line traction...but, its gonna ...it just aint right bro.

dont let all these people fool you about it looking bad or handling like crap. It will look and handle normal. I used to have 315 NItto Drs on my 17x.9.5 Z06 wheels. They looked NORMAL, the car handled fine as well. Even thou everything will look/work fine they still wont be much wider then the 275s, 315s on a 17x11 are goin to be a lot wider

The past weekend I saw an Austrian Corvette with 315s mounted on 9.5 ZR1's. It was simply terrible. Forget that. Bigger is not always better. Or even, bigger is rarely better.

If your drag racing only, maybe, but for cornering, I wouldn't. What happens is the sidewall tilts in from the tread toward the wheel and won't provide enough lateral stability. Cornering will suffer or at the least, not be any better than 275's. Every 315 I've read the specs on require a minimum of a 10" and some are 10.5" wheel. (Max of 12"). The reasons I've mentioned above are why. Stretching the sidewall provides that lateral stability.

So do you have to roll the fender to get the ZR1 11" wheels and 315/35's to fit. Can rolling the fender be done at home in my garage or should I pay for it?

It all depends on the offset of the 11" wheel. With a 50mm offset, the main work will be on the inner fender (bump stop etc), with a 36mm offset, the outer lip will probably have to be rolled, especailly if your car has been lowered. There are several sites where people have pictures and instructions for rolling the lip, you just have to be careful and take your time. You don't want to crack the paint.

The difference between the 36mm and 50mm is only .56". Not much, there's not a lot of room for an 11" wheel (or really a 315 tire) in the F-Body wheel wells. It takes some work no matter how you do it.
