Are you sure its not the low coolant light?
It looks like a rectangle with a bit of water in it (red light i think). Sensor can sometimes be cleaned. Its a small box on the passenger side of the radiator held in by a clip.

"overheating" light?

I guess thats what it is ... its red and right under and between 60 and 70 mph.

You mean under the 6-7k rpm? That is the low coolant light.

Dude, you need to do at least a few things:

-make a short signature that says what year and model your car is and what transmission. This will at least give people a clue about your car when you post (I know you mentioned something above, but other posts don't).

-since you are new to the car, read the owner's manual. If you don't have one, get one here .

-make sure you make use of the search feature.
