160 thermo stat ?s

Do I just go to Autozone of somewhere and ask for a 160? Or is it a special one?

Also does it do anything in the computer or something?

yes, that will work. It should run around $20. Most autoparts places will try to give you the one for a std. SBC and they are only a few dollars but they won't work.

nope you don't need any programming. You might have to bleed the coolant system after your done. Other than that its just a simple thermostat install. I would probably put silicone around the housing though because if it leaks any its all gonna land on the opti.

Re: 160 thermo stat ?s

Why are you pulling the PCM fuse if you don't even know what it does?

Re: 160 thermo stat ?s

That still doesn't explain why you are pulling the pcm fuse. If you are pulling it for some reason related to the thermostat install. I'll just save you the time. You don't need to pull it.

Re: 160 thermo stat ?s

I wonder why my overheat light is coming on at just 190 or so...it shouldnt come on at that temp should it.

What temp sould the light come on at ? And is that set in the PCM?

Re: 160 thermo stat ?s

I didn't even know there was an "overheating" light. I guess i've never had that problem. I do know there are 2 temperature sensors on the car maybe one is bad. That might be why your gauge reads fine 190 and the other one thinks the car is getting hot.
