160 Thermo ok?
Well i just wanted to make sure my car ran nice and cool cause i drive a lot of "stop and go (real fast)" and sometimes the temps creep up twards the 3rd mark and i just wanted to make sure it ran cool...
ive heard people on here say 160 is ok, but my friend says the aluminum and steel wont warm up right together when the water comes in at such an early stage... ur opinions plz

Many people on here, including myself, have used the 160* for a long time thermostat with no problems. Getting a manual fan switch, or getting your PCM tuned to have your fans come on sooner would also help. Keeping the temps down is good for the LT1s.

If you search, you will find lots of threads about the 160º thermostat.
Changing thermostat
More cooling system info (including some talk near the end about the 160º thermostat).

never trust az's parts unless you see them first. I waited for 1/2 hour for them to find me an injector that was the wrong one. they also do not understand the idea of a long tailed thermostat. They said that the newer designed thermostats do not have the tail. Even though this tail is very important to the reverse flow engins. They are very incompetent unless you know what you are there for or you might have a good sales person. But I would never trust there advice.
