Why Ford oil in GM's?

I work as a tire tech, but as a lube tech too. I see people putting Motorcraft oil in their GM cars. Is there an advantage to this? If not, why do it?

Probably b/c it might have been cheaper. The best oils are Redline, Royal Purple, Amsoil, and Mobil 1.

Actually it costs just as much as any other non-blend or synth. Same $ as castrol, pennz, qs, or valvoline.

It's just a choice like any other brand. No advantage that I know of.

gosh...oil has been so over discussed on this board. Like stated above its all a matter of choice. I run Mobil 1 Synthetic and just pulled apart the top half of my engine. It looked wonderful in there. And thats with 163,000 miles. Its your decision though.
