15X8 wheels

Hey guys.
Can I get by with 15X8 wheels with 3.5" Backspacing? I know you are supposed to have 5 or somthing like that but the wheels I want are only offered in 3.5". Also, what all is involved in grinding calipers? I know you have to grind them to get the wheels to fit most of the time. And one final question, will 295-50-15 work on the back? I want to go skinnier up front. But they will be a 15X8 wheels all around.

3.5?! on a 15x8 it will stick out of the fenders man... badly.
and 5.0 inches is the absolute smallest backspacing you can really use. 6.5 or so would be optimal actually.

Click on the "Trailer Queen...." link in my signature below. That is where 15x8 rims would sit with 5.5" BS (mine are 15x10 7.5"BS). A 3.5" BS would put the tires at least 1.5" outside the fender.
