12v power sources...

Which fuses or wires are convient to tap in for a 12v power source?

what do u need a power source for? something inside the car (radar, light, switch)??

Sorry I should have been more specific...a shift light is going in so it would have to be in the dash area.

i would tap into the 12v(orange wire) that goes to the radio. Because power only goes through it when the igntion is on.

Look inside the fuse box at the end of the dash. There is a spade lug labeled "IGN" (its on the lower left side on my 94). That is power that is switched on and off with the ignition, and protected by one of the fuses (can't remember exactly which one). That's where I tapped into for my gauge lights, power to various relays, etc.

[EDIT- its powered off the "gauges" fuse right above it. That's why mine is bumped up to 20A vs. the stock 10A]

Crimp a spade type connector on the wire and push it over the lug... no muss, no fuss.

I think the spade lug labeled "ACCY" is unswitched power... but not sure. You could check it with a volt meter.

My shift-lite is tapped off the "gauges" fuse in the fuse box.
