11.8:1 compression too much?
I'm running 11.8:1 compression right now.
Last year it was 11.3:1.
Ever since I got my new heads I've been blowing the dipstick out a little bit when I floor it. I also have blue smoke from the exhaust when I floor it.
I ran 116mph traps like this.
Car seems to be getting quieter too. Its loud when I first start it up but then gets quieter.
Time for new rings? Too much compression?

Grip what is your dynamic compression ratio? How is your cooling system? Do a search in the advanced tech for dynamic compression ratio. You should be alright with 93 without a doubt IMO but firgure your dynamic out.

I'm running 11.8:1 on a stock bottom end. That's from heads shaved 0.030 and an LT1 Impala head gasket (0.029 compressed thickness). With the 230/236-112 cam, the dynamic compression comes out to about 8.9:1. I run it on 91 octane California MTBE gas (you can't get higher octane here without going to racing gas) with no problems. Knocks on wood :-)
If you are blowing out the dipstick, I'd say you have blowby problems and the engine might need some work. Blue smoke is also a bad sign, since it means you are burning oil. Run a compression check to see what's going on. On a cold engine, mine had 150-160 psi across the board.

When its cold its fine. When it heats up my oil pressure drops slightly and the car gets quieter.
I did also put in a bottle of engine oil supplement a month ago. I should do an oil change.
