11.48 ET on second hand LE2s

Ran the first pass on my new setup at the LTx Nationals with some good results. Heres the set up...

LE2 heads (second hand with 10k miles)
292xfi cam (also second hand, DCR at 9.1)
30 lb SVO injectors (going to 36 soon)
Ported LT1 intake
JE pistons (final static cr is 12.3, 0 deck with a .039 quench)
383 cid
3600 Fuddle on a owner built 4L60E
3.89 Ford 9"
PCMforless base tune (wot timimg very soft, 33 deg)

Everything else on the car is basic stuff. Car ran 11.48 @ 118 mph on a 1.57 60'. Its got more in it by way of tuning and shift point changes. (shift points were just below 6200 rpm and the verter was going into lockup around 100 mph) Hope to get it to 11 teens (maybe even a high 10 pass with a stiff tail wind!!) before I unleash a 150 shot on it! Not bad for an owner built car with mostly second hand parts!

Not too shabby at all. You had some nice runs, I was there too. My car just wasn't done to race.

I've got a similar setup.

Congrats, you've got the second fastes LE2 setup.

Why the XFi grind and not something else.

Isn't that car faster with the XFI than others are with Bert's cams, with the same heads?

Nice job BTW, you've got the compression part down correctly.

you should put a set of 4.10's in that rear and you'll be making some nice 10 second passes

I didnt know that. Wasnt tring to beat anyone out (except the guy in the next lane). The car has more in it. Another member in here (and a new friend) The Engineer has had good luck with this cam. Not sure what heads he is running but he has gone high 10s. The cam specs also kept the DCR within reason for street driving. (9.1)

The car weighed 3400 on the old setup with the AC compressor and pasenger seat removed.(3650 with me in it). Added a five point cage which is kinda heavy (mild steel). Have not weighed the car on the new setup but I would guess about 3750. I've got a adj. torque arm relocated to the crossmember, relocation brackets, Wolfe sway bar, stock shocks.

Running short rubber (26x11.5x15 ET Streets) to make up for the taller gear. The nitrous equipment is all hooked up. Just need to fill the bottle and try it out. Gotta see what it does on the top end and make gear/tire adjustments accordingly. Thanks for the feedback. It lets me know I'm headed in a good direction.

Sorry Big Guy.lol Not knowing what times others are running I guess I'm not really sure. Not looking for bragging rights. Looks like your times are a bit better that mine at the moment. (not to mention stock cubes) Your trap is Great! Not sure what the cam is gonna do when I spin it higher. I heard a few people saying that its a bit hard to control once you do spin it harder. WD went with some PAC 518s (replacing 918s) because he was having an issue crossing the traps around 6500. He said it made some difference. Biggest difference that he noticed is that the engine seems to rev a bit qicker in each gear. I'm running the 918s at the moment. I dont have much time with this cam to know the difference yet. Time will tell. So far, I like it!!

If I can make it to a second event I hope to see you out there! It was a blast to be there. Third place Heads up N/A really didnt feel like 3rd place at all. It felt like I won! The car was broken on the trailer in the motel parking lot only two hours before the race (opti took a dump). Found an opti, got it changed, made the race (with a little help from a rain delay). A "Thank You " goes out to all the guys who gave me words of encouragement and the loan of a few tools. A HUGE "Thank You" goes out to my 10 year old son for hanging in there with his dad in the cold, and the dark, and the rain! The boy has my utmost respect! This alone made the 1700 mile round trip all worth it! My hat is off to him.
