10 bolt rear... is it a 7.5?

I'm curious... I'm approching the point of purchasing a 12-Bolt, 9-Inch, or just living with the 10. But, if I can determine what kind of 10 bolt (7.5) then I can determine it's limitations for my application.

Thanks.

The 3rd and 4th gen F-Bodies were all 7.5/7.625.

I have a 6 speed and I have had nothing but problems with the rear end. I run Nitto Drags and it took 3 major repairs to the 10 bolt before I stopped going to the dragstrip.

I decided it would be best to save up the cash to upgrade to the 12 bolt so I could run some ET streets without fear.

How much will your 12 bolt cost? Why not go with a 9-Inch?

9-inch don't have provisions for your ABS system, and they cause more parasitic power loss....

Plus, if you go 12-bolt you stay GM :P

WRONG!

moser now offers ABS with their 9" rears,
but you are correct they do result in a SLIGHTLY higher percentage of drivetrain friction which = less hp at the ground
