Do you have any rough specs on your heads and cam setup? What about your nitrous setup, what size shot were you spraying? What kind of tires were you using during the runs?

wow man those are some nice times!

Your only problem is that: heads/cam + 175 shot = BOOM!

But it will be fun till that happens

You already have the 12 bolt - why didnt you build the bottom end while you were at it?

Yeah, you are probably using borrowed time with that stock bottom end.

Your car might have more in it, but your bottom end doesn't, sorry. Nice time nonetheless.

A friend of mine ran a 150 shot with a heads and cam motor with a stock bottom end for YEARS. Depends on your tuning. He took all the precautions and the car is still alive today.

Forged pistons basically give you more margin for error in the tuning. But you are pusing the envelope on what the stock bottom end can handle.

Congrats on the new best. What was the break down for the 8th and such?

And as for the 1/4 mile joke, if that car ran 10.6 at 129 in the 8th, that would be one hell of a fast (mph car).

Grip got it right, tunning is the big thing. Theres been LS1s in the 9.6s on stock short block, both local cars, lot of tunning. Theres also an LT1 in the 9s with the stock short block. Lot of it has to be keeping it from detonating, having enough fuel and then not over reving the motor on spray with the stock rods.
